NKV Student Speech Contest, 26 May 2021, online
The bi-annual Dutch edition of the Student Speech Contest will be held on Wednesday evening 26 May starting at 20h. In this Contest, PhD students will present their ceramics-related research project to the audience, and at the same time 'battle' with each other in a contest to give the best presentation. Due to the corona pandemic, this year's Student Speech Contest will not be a physical face-to-face event, but will be held via the videoconferencing software Zoom.
The participants of this year's Contest are, with their research subject:
· Anton Tuluk, TU Delft, "Bismuth Ferrite-based high-temperature piezoceramic"
· Nikos Kyriakou, Univ. Twente, "Controlled nanoconfinement of polyimide network in mesoporous alumina membranes via surface-induced polymerization for molecular separations"
The duration of each presentation is 15 minutes, followed by approx. 5 minutes question & answer by jury & audience. The language of this evening is English. A jury, consisting of board members of the Dutch Ceramic Society, will evaluate several presentational and scientific aspects of the presentation.
The result of the Dutch Student Speech Contest will be disclosed later that evening, after the Zoom event. Only one of the students can be a winner, and he will represent The Netherlands in the European (ECerS) Student Speech Contest later this year.
